Emerge Day 2
Cant imagine it's 2.32am! I am still very awake (dearie is sleeping like a log now...) Perhaps like what Pastor Kong said, it'll take him sometime too to fall asleep... what an awesome service we had just now, simply amazing.
First and foremost, the crowd went super high during praise and worship. I tell you, there's no better place to be in then the house of God, especially during EMERGE. How can you miss it?! (oh, thanks Ah ying for helping us book the seats! She went there at 4pm and her willingness never fails to amaze me! She does things without complains and in such high spirits! Way to go girl!)
Then comes the arm wrestling challenge...wow...really cool! The congregation went even wilder when pastor Derek and pastor Chee Kiang had a challenge of their own (though its a draw)! We were in for a great surprise when pastor Aries announced the special star... Kelly Poon! She sang a beautiful song "December" and personally, i kinda like her (honey was staring at me in amazement when i went cheering for her like a 16 year old girl!). After Kelly was Jun Yang! Wow.... no words to describe all our feelings! Ah Ying and I were waving or handphones! After Jun Yang, we could hardly breathe! Then came Taufik. Hmm... i am not really a fan of his but i still enjoyed his songs.
Ofcourse after all these "stars", we focused back to the One star who created Heavens and Earth, God. Pastor preached about having Spiritual Hunger. Honestly, i have been losing this hunger and longed for a touch from heaven to bring it back again. The message came so timely. I want to be a Jabez in my time. Though situations are painful, i want to be hungry for the things of the Lord.
So how do we get the acquired taste of Spiritual Hunger?
1) Be in the right Environment (i.e. church, cell group)
2) Have the Holy Spirit around
3) Experience God
4) Have an encounter with Him over and over again.
Non christians may not understand, but Christianity is really not about religiousity. It's a relationship. We all have experienced the goodness and reality of God in our lives, that's why we do the things we do today. I want to have the hunger back again!
